TITLE: Food & Nutrition Service Assistant Manager
This position exists only in school with an enrollment of 900 or more students. Placement on pay scale is determined by years of service as a Food & Nutrition Service Assistant or its equivalent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- A Serv-Safe Certificate required
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements and objectives of the National School Breakfast/Lunch Program
- Knowledge and prior experience in food preparation, serving, and sanitation standards
- Satisfactory progress in previous job performance
- Ability to work effectively with others in a pleasant and cooperative manner
- Computer skills –Word, Excel, Production Records, Cash responsibility and Inventory
REPORTS TO: Cafeteria Manager
SUPERVISES: Food & Nutrition Service Associates
JOB GOAL:
- To efficiently assist in the total management of a school food service facility
- To acquire proper training and be prepared to assume the duties of Food & Nutrition Service Manager in the absence of the Food & Nutrition Service Manager or when a vacancy occurs in a management position
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Food & Nutrition Service Manager in all aspects of food preparation, service, and sanitation. This will include responsibility for specific paperwork, deposits, and any other duties as assigned by the manager.
PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS:
- Manual dexterity
- Capability of frequent repetitive movements
- Ability to lift up to 50# daily for short periods of time; frequent lifting of lesser weight
- Long periods (up to 8 hours) of standing and walking
- Able to work in a warm, humid environment
- Ability to work under pressure
TERM OF
EMPLOYMENT 10-month year; Grade 10
