TITLE:

                Human Resources Coordinator

 

POSITION TYPE:

                Exempt

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • To provide specialized Human Resources technical and administrative duties under the supervision of the Chief of Human Resources

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimal requirement of BS/BA in Business, Education, or a related field; or a combination of education experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • MBA or Human Resource Management (HRM) preferred; SHRM certified is a plus
  • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices
  • General knowledge of federal and state employment laws
  • Strong ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
  • Thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
  • General knowledge of accepted recruiting and employment practices, including social media recruiting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to collect, analyze, synthesize and evaluate complex information in order to produce reports and make judgements and decisions
  • Ability to prepare correspondence, narrative and statistical reports, forms, surveys, etc., using prescribed formats and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of specific instruction
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of Human Resources information and personnel records

 

REPORTS TO:

                Chief of Human Resources

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Cross-train with the Personnel Associate for a comprehensive skillset of all HR functions, duties and responsibilities, as needed
  • Administer, supervise, and interpret certification regulations and procedures (including notifying professional personnel and principals of certification renewal, submission of license renewal applications, name changes, added endorsements, and change of license types)
  • Maintain data and provide information to personnel in areas to include health insurance, retirement, criminal history search and search of the central registry, personnel data forms, tax forms, physical examination forms, employment eligibility verification forms, verification of pervious employment, unemployment claims, transcripts, teacher observation reports, evaluations, etc.
  • Supervise, adjust, and issue contracts for employees and/or personnel actions
  • Monitor and process applications in Frontline applicant tracking system
  • Assist with monitoring or conducting new employee processing, including fingerprinting, background checks, and licensing
  • Take photographs of new employees for ID cards as appropriate
  • Determine identifiers to be entered in Munis for newly hired employees
  • Prepare a variety of letters including offer letters, promotions, separation, and retirement letters
  • Prepare and post recruitment ads and vacancy notices as requested
  • Set up interviews for teachers, secretaries, custodians, instructional aides, etc.
  • Coordinate new teacher recruiting
  • Assist employees and applicants by efficiently and correctly responding to inquiries; refer employees to other personnel as required
  • Participate in job fairs and recruiting activities
  • Act as liaison for HR with other departments and school leadership
  • Work closely with finance department team members for comprehensive coverage of employee needs
  • Assist supervisors, directors, or other school leadership team members with performance management procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Involves limited physical tasks including lifting and operation of equipment such as computers, copiers, projection equipment, etc.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • 12 month contract; Grade 24

  • Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Personnel
